Dante's Piano

After 10 years since my first lesson, my family finally got a real piano! All of the music that flows out of my fingertips sounds ten times more beautiful!
I picked up Dante's Inferno today at the library, now it's just a matter of if I'm going to read it or not.
I need a summer job. Too bad I'm not applying for anything yet. Stupid procrastination!

Julie's 17th Birthday and the San Diego World Famous Zoo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!!!!
I had so much fun today at the zoo and only doing half of the research we were supposed to do on giraffes. =] It was freaking cold today. It doesn't really matter cause it was such a wonderful (yet tiring) day today. Oh, and there were 4, that's FOUR tigers!

Because Julie insisted I'm going to post my blogs on tumblr as well. Enjoy!

The Tenth Circle

Yesturday I forgot to mention that by procrastinating on homework (and thus relecting my bio homework which I think turned out fairly well), I read Jodi Picoult's novel The Tenth Circle in about a day. She's the author of one of my favorite books, My Sister's Keeper which is going to be turned into a movie! In spite of this the tenth circle is only okay. The protagonist really pisses me off sometimes. I hate her reasoning, even if she is raped, geez. Oh, well, it's a good book to read when you're procratinating but I'm not sure if I would recommend it. However, I recommend reading The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. Both The Gargoyle and The Tenth Circle repeatedly refers to Dante Alighieri's Inferno. This classic (long) poem has been mentioned so much I really want to read it now! Inferno describes Dante's journey through hell and is where most of modern's impression of hell comes from. There are different circles in which people would reside depending on the sins they made while on earth. Ahhh I want to read it!

At 11:55 am today I had my ASB interview to be Commissoner of Clubs and Fundrasing. I truly hope I make it! I thought I did fairly well but I'm just afraid that others did better than me.

I am so unfit! On Sunday Cheyenne and I started our second week of running and gosh I got tired way too fast! I'm so scared cause in fifteen minutes we're going to run again but we have to go faster! I feel so bad cause I feel like I'm slowing her down! Why can't I be fit?

Memorial Weekend

Yesterday I went to Seaworld San Diego with my friends Anna, Kristina, and Takuma. I don't think I've been there since I was twelve! We went on Journey to Atlantis and Shipwreck Rapids twice each, went to the arctic thing, and saw tons of marine animals! You know, one of my favorite things to do at Seaworld is touching the sting rays. I don't know, but they're so cool! But gosh, stuff there is so expensive. The food is so overpriced! I gotta say though, their caramel apple pie is delicious but so fattening! The above picture is an ad at Seaworld for the Zoo or Wild Animal Park. I think it's hilarious! The zebra tottally looks like it's humping the giraffe's neck. I know I'm weird. I pretty much showed this picture to everyone today. Being the overprotected parents she is, wouldn't let Takuma drive me there and insisted in taking me herself. So, when she and my brother went to pick me up she just had to go in Seaworld. We watched the dolphin show and the sea lion show. I'm not sure if they changed the shows up a bit since I last went (although I'm pretty sure they did) but I gotta say their sea lion show is hilarious! I love how they're able to make a parody of themselves, it's hilarious. Did I mention that the host guy danced to Nsync and Beyonce! But boy was I pooped when I got home; and then I had to do homework. I feel really bad for not doing a lot in my bio project on giraffes with Nga and Katie cause I hate it when I have to do all the work, but I think I'm making up for it.
Tonight I had a Cathecist Appreciation Dinner and gee, the food was superb. Ha, I love how this post keeps ending up taking about food.
Overall I had a good day. I love it when people say hi or notice things! It truly makes my day.

last night....

So last night was Crystal's 21st Birthday party. It was a night of fun, awkward, and crazy moments! We played majong (look how pro I look--I'm really not). Gosh I love that game, even though I'm SUPER indecisive. I played the drums for Eye of the Tiger once while playing Rockband with my Rockband Headband! While showing her my blog, I got Sarah to blog. Oh, and of course the jello shots! I mean Crystal's twenty-one! Obviously mine's just jello; you just can't see the happy face on my jello shot to indicate that it's just jello. But that night did make me want to eat some more.
oh but then the awkwardness with Yao Ling! At least he left in time for us to make an Eye of the Tiger music video. Gosh, we don't need alcohol to be crazy. It's pretty sad actually, but simulatinously amusing.
Ah, but today, boring today. ACT class, following my mom shopping, exercise, Mass, and the most exciting part of my day, watching Back to the Future! I have never seen it before and I love it! '50s and '80s so you gotta love it! I noticed that on one of the signs is the Kiwanis sign! (They're the like adult version of Key Club.) Currently I'm about to go to bed so sleep tight!

“Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.”

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” -Coco Chanel
For my public speaking class I had a presentation on a famous person, Coco Chanel. Although the above photos are not what I wore for the presentation (I was way dressed up!) I still felt very girly and cute. I think it was because my hair was curled (using pink sponge rollers!). I loved how Julie and I both did characters famous in the 1920s. Hopefully I can get a picture up soon.
Sex-ed in class is interesting. I understand this is so random!
After math tutoring Viet, Julie, and I went with Kelli to Barnes and Noble and Islands. We finished pretty quickly. The math homework was actually fun. *gasps* Anyways, at Barnes and Noble Kelli and Julie noticed these ladies there that we've seen there before. They wouldn't just recognize some random people, these ladies were gossiping it out. Somehow this one lady ended up taking a picture for us and we got to get the two ladies mentioned in the photo. How perfect. Oh, but I feel like a fatass for eating fries and chips. Yes, that was our dinner, which reminds me; since Cheyenne and I are starting to work out everyday (and the 30 mins goes by quicker with each day) we also wanted to start eating heathly. Gosh I failed already. We even decided to start a food journal to record what we eat throughout the day. Let's hope it actually helps.

Gossip Girl, Exercise, and One of My Favorite Things

So, the finale of Gossip Girl aired today and how could I help but talk about it? I thought it was good; however, I'm not sure how well it will be once everyone leaves for their experience in college. It doesn't make sense to me but you never know, maybe the writers can whip something out. Oh, and did I mention, CHUCK AND BLAIR AND TOGETHER! YAY!
I love Jenny Humphrey/Taylor Momsen. After I cut my hair it reminded me of her. She become one of the characters I've grown to love. By the way, I love the lace number she wears at the end. Lace is one of my favorite things. It reminds me of this one Forever 21 dress I am dying to have! Whoever invented lace is a genius, even though it was orginally intended for men. Earlier this season Jenny wore this gray sweater/cardigan with lace in the front that was identical to one of my red swearters/cardigan! Wouldn't you believe it?!
My best friend Cheyenne and I made a New Year's resolution (I know that was a long time ago shut up) to start working out together, more specificly to run today. Well, today, since AP testing is over, we finally started! We're both a bit rusty so we're following this plan from The Runner's World. Afterword we plan to follow 8 minute abs. I'm supper excited for our new workout plan!

target, gg, class, driving, music

Friday I went to Target and got the COOLEST sandals EVER! and some really cute boots. oh I just love target style. I want to apply there just so I can get a discount on all the amazing things they have. In other target news, ANNA SUI IS GOING TO MAKE A GOSSIP GIRL INSPIRED LINE FOR TARGET! AHHHHHHHH!!!! I have to start saving my money now. I love Tracy Feith's line for target and all the other designers as well but I just can't buy everything I want. Target is a genius for having designers make affordable apparel!
I had my first ACT class today after taking a practice test last week which I got a 24, which is only okay. I want to get into a UC so badly! After my mom said that it would be great if I could just drive from my house to UCSD, UCSD is no longer my first choice. Stupid economy. I want to dorm in college!
Since my relatives from Vietnam went home after about four weeks my dad can finally start teaching me how to drive. Unfortunately we only stayed in the car for about 20 minutes going over stuff INSIDE the car. Stuff that I ALREADY KNOW! It was really frustrating me.
but on a lighter note, my current musical obsession: eagle and talon
Eagle and Talon's upbeat indie sound is just my style! Makes me want to dance like and idiot. Oh, and guess where I found them...Gossip Girl!

Models and Dinner

Oh dear, it's almost 11 o'clock and I still haven't started my homework and my mother gets to watch the finale of Grey's Anatomy. I'll try to get everything off my mind.

First off, last night I watched the finale of America's Next Top Model, which I don't really follow anymore because of time, but since yesturday I had my last AP test and no homework, I just watched it. Even though Teyona won, I LOVE Allison! I actually remembered her from catching a few episodes in the beginning of the cycle. She is gorgeous! Her eyes are so big and adorable. I love her face in the picture above. So STELLER! (that's her word.) Too bad she didn't win, but I do admit this has been one of the closest competitions and the finale was intense (final runway).
Today was my cousin Michelle's birthday and we went out to dinner at Lee's Garden. I heard she was about to cry cause my brother and I didn't come but we came late as a surprise! It was a great evening and I got to see my cousin that I haven't seen in years! It was great and a lot of fun. Oh, and the ice cream fudge Baskin Robbins bronnie cake was delicious!
Oh, and in APUSH my class got to enjoy Forest Gump! I have never seen that movie and am really glad I got the change to! I love Forest's mother's clothing! I wish I can have all her dresses. I went home and learned the melody of the theme song by ear on piano. It's so pretty! While I was watching the movie it sounded familiar and realized that I heard it before from http://www.theinterviewwithgod.com/popup-frame.html. The soothing sounds seem so peaceful.

"Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last."

Ahh, the great words of MLK. Although he's speaking about race, I'd like to apply that quote to the end of AP testing! Today was my English Language and Composition, blah. I think it was my worst out compared to Bio and APUSH. But I don't know...I pretty much did bad on all of them. I just want the weighted credit, although if I pass I'll be so amazed at myself. It just feels really good. I love being lazy.....

the power of conversation

Since I currently have relatives staying over at my house there was a Mother's Day party and my aunt and uncle's house. My cousin took me home early so I could study for my AP Bio test for tomorrow. (yikes!) Well, on the way home we talked about various things, rocks, opinions, discipline; however the majority of our conversation was about family and then turned to the family problems currently inside my house. I don't know, but it was really nice to talk to someone about my situation with someone on the outside, someone paired on the other side of the line. With the position I'm in it's really hard to take one side. I never really had an in depth conversation so I felt especially grateful for the talk. Thank God for cousins!

hmm...

gosh, so I'm really going to start blogging? Not that anyone is going to stumble on my page and find anything interesting. I guess I'll start to blog like the way I started to write in my diary. First, it was a make it yourself Barbie journal that I started when I first learned how to write (I'm guessing 2nd grade?) I currently have no idea where it is and I hope that one day I'll be able to find it. Then I have my Pooh Bear Diary that my aunt gave me one year. I still write in it from time to time. If you look at it I only write in it once a year, three would be excellent. About a year ago my best friend and I used notebooks to exchange thoughs, but I'm slacking. And now blogging? I don't know if I can do it, but I'll do it for myself. Nothing interesting, just maybe my thoughts to amuse myself and look back one day at my old thoughts. I love listening to my childhood voice.
