Spring Break 2010

So I just realized that I there are tons of pictures of me eating sandwiches while in ASB.

Lovely ain't it?

This is the result of me looking at tons of photos today that were uploaded during lent. Oh yeah, Happy Easter and Earthquake to you too! =]

Anyways, I really enjoyed this Spring Break. I got to swim with my mom, enjoy Del Mar beach with Stephanie and Jackie and only saw Ferdie for like a minute, chill at the Espinoza's, attempted to find a prom dress (and failed), practice driving on the freeway a lot, completed my intent to enroll at SDSU, practice stations, fixed the awkwardness of altar-serving training, perform stations, have some random guy totally call me out for not being loud enough during my station, ate at TODO's with some station buddies, successfully follow drivers to and from sushi, and have an amazing sleepover which consisted of...

Exclusive

Today I got my Costco Card, complete with my face on it and everything! I've been excited about this for almost two weeks when I found out I was going to get one but I'm still excited! I feel like I'm in an exclusive club or something. After going to Costco my mom and I went shopping. I'm really looking forward to this week because I sense that my mom and I are going to get closer. We plan on cooking, swimming and shopping together.

Bra Shopping
Me: Why are the C's on top?! Shouldn't they be at the bottom? I'm too lazy to bend down to look for a bra.
Mom: Maybe it's because it hurts them to bend down because they're too big. Yeah, they probably got complaints so they moved the C's to the top.

Wailing Child

"She lay still now, her face bathed in tears. Exhaustion of body had entirely subdued her spirit: our fiery Catherine was no better than a wailing child."
"Oh, I'm burning! I wish I were out of doors! I wish I were a girl again, half savage and hardy, and free...and laughing at injuries, not maddening under them! Why am I so changed? why does my blood rush into a hell of tumult at a few words? I'm sure I should be myself were I once among the heather on those hills."
                                                                       -Wuthering Heights

Today never happened before. Each day sends something different our way even though our routine schedules. These past two weeks allowed me to enjoy myself, but at the same time made me feel really low. I guess that what these days brought me. At least I know others have been in the same position as I am.

I hope in 55 years my life won't be forgettable wherever I'm going and wherever I go out.

"We're not spirited my ass." -Julie Dao

I feel like we had to go through an abortion with the dance. All the lovin' and preparing was made for the day we went to labor and now all that hard work has gone to waste. What is up with me and all this labor talk all day today? I think it has to do with the birth of Jim and Pam's daughter. I mean, I talked to Mr. Biggs about breast feeding and the tearing of the vagina and now I'm making an analogy with abortion and the spring dance? I am so weird. At least I had a great time going all out for this spirit week.

Wednesday March 3, 2010--'90s Day

Cathy is the best '90s girl ever. Admit it, we all know you had the middle part too.

Thursday March 4, 2010--Fairy Tale Day

I felt like a mix of Cinderella/the fairy godmother due to the color of my dress, which I got from being in a wedding years ago. This was also the day Julie and I spent the entire day working on The Girls' Room's new decorations. We will end up victorious in the war against VNC Headquarters.

The quote in my planner for this week deals with direction, and it is something I need to learn.

Texting Proposal

The following is the proposal I am writing to my parents in attempt to get texting. I don’t even care if it’s unlimited, I just want to get something. Would you care to add any suggestions?

Texting Proposal
  1. Nobody talks on the phone anymore.
  2. Instead of initiating a long phone conversation, a text can be used for a quick, to-the-point answer.
  3. When I need to call to ask about a homework assignment texts are faster since the assignment is typed on the phone and sent and one does not need to take time to read the assignment for the other person to write down. You can view the assignment on your phone through the text.
  4. Like number 3, driving directions or people’s addresses can be sent through text in a quick manner.
  5. Mass Texting allows for communication among multiple people without disrupting their time since they may choose to reply immediately or when one has time. It is also a great way to send reminders to others or send event schedules. This is especially great for Core Team, ASB, and other groups.
  6. Texting is convenient since most people will look that their text messages but are too lazy to check their voice mail. They can also wait to view texts on their own time and you will not disrupt them or take time to create a well-thought out answer.
  7. Showers will be shorter because I would want to see my texts.
  8. Texting is great when someone is in a noisy area and talking on the phone would be frustrating due to yelling and the repeating of “What? Can you say that again?” Or, in the opposite case, while in public one does not have to talk loudly into a phone (like in stores or the library).
  9. In case of an emergency they are useful since they are quiet. (For example, a kidnapping)
  10.  Texting would result in talking less on the phone. We wouldn’t need unlimited minutes for talking and it would even out on the bill.
Extra Notes
1. Even Tiffany and Sophie have text! (My younger cousins)
2. My driving instructor told me to text him whether I passed the driving test or not and I couldn’t.
3. For projects (like my Spanish video project) I was out of the loop on decisions that were made over text.
4. I should get it for my 18th birthday! =)

Mary and Zach Hight really know their fashion. They sported this lovely jacket that inspired Marc Jacobs. What more could they come up with?
